Complaint filed before Chief Justice of Bombay High Court, Shri. Devendra Kumar Upadhyay, for taking contempt action against Sanjay Raut and Editor Uddhav Thackeray.
Indian Bar Associations’ National President Adv. Nilesh Ojha filed the complaint.
Bar body also demands for cancellation of bail of Sanjay Raut which as per his own version appears to be obtained by him by giving bribe money or by corruption.
Already two Contempt Petition before High Court and Supreme Court are pending against Sanjay Raut, Uddhav Thackeray and others for their act of defaming judiciary.
Earlier, Editors of Daily Samna had tendered unconditional apology before Supreme Court for publication of scandalous news.
Mumbai: Sanjay Raut on 04.02.2024 in his Editorial published in Daily Samna had made serious defamatory, derogatory allegations in Daily Samna. The gist of the allegations is as under;
“Court have become ‘Sulabh shauchalay’. Without giving money there will not be any judicial work.
All judges are corrupt no judgement is being given on merit.
All session judges are corrupt and in Bail matter for economic offences they keep the matter pending for getting bribe”
The above blanket statement had caused anger and annoyance amongst Honest Judges, Court Staff and Lawyers.
Indian Bar Associations’, National President, Adv Nilesh Ojha on 06.02.2024 had a lodged a complaint before Chief Justice Shri Devendra Upadhyay, Bombay High Court asking immediate action under criminal contempt and section 192, 193, 469, 500, 501, 109, 120 (B), 34 Etc of Indian Penal Code against Sanjay Raut, Editor Uddhav Thakre and publisher Vivek kadam.
Sanjay Raut is in habit of making such false, defamatory, baseless and scandalous allegations against Courts And Judges including Judges of Supreme Court.
Already Two Contempt petitions are pending before High Court and Supreme Court against Sanjay Raut, Uddhav Thakre and others.
Sanjay Raut earlier had made scandalous allegations that the entire judiciary is under the ‘shoes of ruling party.’
He had also made a statement that, the scale in the hands of lady Justicia is purchased from scrap (Bhangar).
The complaint had demanded for Narco Test of Sanjay Raut and cancellation of his bail, which as per his own version is obtained by corrupt practices.
Complaint also blames Chief Justice Devendra Upadhyay, Bombay High Court for his biased attitude in being slow in dealing with cases against accused Sanjay Raut and others.
Additionally, complainant said that, the Public Interest Litigation against Aditya Thakre in Sushant Singh Rajput and Disha Salian murder and Gang Rape case is not heard by the Bench of Chief Justice Upadhyay since last 5 months and on the date fixed the matter is being kept back on the board so it never reaches.
It is also allegation of the complainant that as per new assignment the cases against Riya Chakraborty and Aditya Thakre are transferred to the bench headed by Justice Revati Mohite Dere, who is close to accused because her sister Smt. Vandana Chauhan is (MP) (Rajya Sabha) from Sharad Pawar group and there is an alliance with Aditya Thackrey.
Complaint also pointed out the inaction by Chief Justice Devendra Upadhyay, in not complying the orders dated 25.07.2023 for framing Full Bench to deal with the corruption and forgery charges against Justice Revathi Mohite Dare in granting bail to ICICI former President Smt. Chanda Kochhar.b
