➡️ Fearing prosecution the Maharashtra government has removed levying of illegal fines on not wearing masks and office staff not being vaccinated
➡️ Chief Justice reprimanded the Counsel for government by stating that on one hand you (State) say that vaccination is voluntary but indirectly making it is mandatory to access public facilities.
➡️ Chief justice said, “it is very unfortunate that you(State) are insisting everyone should get vaccinated. There is no question of personal choice available ?”
➡️ Chief Justice stated that this is a clear violation of the fundamental rights of the citizens and the court should have taken suo moto cognizance of all illegal SOP’s of state and quashed it. By not respecting the sentiments of the court the state have given the court a lesson that the Court will remember the next time.
➡️ When asked what are the options for visitors of Mantralaya, Counsel for the state was left speechless because again state mandated double dose vaccination
➡️ Despite previous orders of the Court to respect the petitioners prayers still Maharashtra government not just refused to withdraw restrictions for unvaccinated using the local trains but also made vaccination mandatory to access host of other public facilities.
➡️ Chief Justice has given petitioners liberty to file fresh petition against such discriminatory and illegal orders of the Maharashtra government.
➡️ The petitioners are now filing contempt and other petition’s and also asking for prosecution of the state authorities.
