In a significant development in the high-profile Disha Salian case, the Civil Judge (Senior Division), Nagpur is scheduled to hear, on July 29, 2025, an application seeking attachment of properties and judicial custody of Live Law’s reporters, editors, and directors until they furnish a bank guarantee of ₹900 crore. The application arises in a defamation suit filed by Advocate Partha Sarathy Sarkar, counsel for Satish Salian, father of the late Disha Salian.
During today’s hearing, Live Law informed the Court that it has deleted the controversial news article published against Satish Salian’s counsel, amidst growing legal pressure and scrutiny.
The article in question allegedly contained false and defamatory content, and was accused of obstructing justice and misleading the public, while the matter remains sub judice before the Hon’ble Bombay High Court.
This development is seen as a serious blow to those media reporters and outlets who have been spreading false narratives and conspiracy theories with the intention to glorify the accused — including Aditya Thackeray, Rhea Chakraborty, and others — and to malign the image of Shri Satish Salian, who has been consistently demanding justice in the matter.
The hearing was conducted in accordance with the High Court’s directions for adjudicating the application for interim relief.
